Send job Job Details Job DescriptionJob Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a meaningful impact by providing dedicated instruction and support as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a welcoming educational environment. This contracted position centers on delivering specialized educational services to students with visual impairments, fostering independence and academic growth. Working closely with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams, you'll help ensure access to curriculum and success aligned with each student's IEP goals and accommodations.
Responsibilities include:
Delivering individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments, promoting both educational achievement and independence Collaborating with classroom educators, support personnel, and families to adapt instructional materials and environments Evaluating students' needs and implementing appropriate interventions and assistive technologies Participating in IEP meetings, maintaining progress records, and contributing insights for student development Providing consultation and training to school staff on best practices and accessibility for visually impaired students Qualifications and desired experience: Certification or licensure in teaching students with visual impairments and/or special education as required by state standards Demonstrated experience supporting students with visual impairments in school settings Strong ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams Effective communication skills for working with staff, students, and families Commitment to supporting inclusion and access within the educational environment This onsite position offers a set schedule of 37.5 hours weekly throughout the 2026-2027 school year with the benefit of making a lasting difference in students' lives.
