Eastpointe, MI Description Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join a school in Eastpointe, Michigan for the current school year. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a supportive educational team while making a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special needs. We currently have multiple openings serving students in either Kindergarten through 2nd Grade (K-2) or 3rd through 5th Grade (3-5) resource room programs.

Resource Room Caseload:

Approximately 10-14 students Dedicated paraprofessional support provided Full-time position In-person assignment Competitive compensation Immediate start available Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction and academic support to students in an elementary resource room setting. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families. Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation of goals and objectives. Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs. Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions. Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports student growth and success. Work closely with a classroom paraprofessional to support student learning and achievement. Support students who spend the majority of their instructional day in the resource room while participating in general education settings for specials and select academic subjects. Requirements Active Michigan Special Education Teaching Certification required. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Previous school-based experience preferred.
