Key Qualifications:

Current and active Michigan Special Education Teaching License (please provide a screenshot of licensure with your application) Experience working with high school students in a special education setting, particularly those with cognitive impairments Strong classroom management abilities and a compassionate, student-focused approach Effective communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, administrators, and families Adaptability and creativity in developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and lesson materials

Responsibilities Include:

Designing and implementing instruction and activities specifically tailored for students with cognitive impairments Creating a supportive, positive classroom environment that fosters growth and independence Tracking and communicating student progress, adapting strategies as needed Collaborating with fellow educators, paraprofessionals, and support staff to provide holistic support Maintaining compliance with all reporting, documentation, and IEP requirements This opportunity offers a contract role through June 2027, working a consistent 37.5 hours per week with high school-aged students.
