Key Qualifications:

Valid Michigan Special Education certification is required. Experience working with middle school age groups. Strong knowledge of best practices in Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation. Demonstrated ability to consult with general education teachers and contribute to positive outcomes for students with diverse needs. Ability to effectively manage a caseload and collaborate with families, support staff, and administration. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Role Responsibilities:

Serve as a Teacher Consultant for middle school students, supporting their academic and behavioral growth. Collaborate closely with classroom educators to modify curriculum and develop effective accommodations. Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations for special education. Monitor student progress, provide direct and consultative services, and ensure all documentation is accurate and timely. Act as a resource for families, advocating for student needs and fostering a team approach. Maintain flexibility in approach to best serve a varied caseload.
