Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract position as a Special Education Teacher, covering a maternity leave from December through June 10, 2027. This elementary resource role supports young learners by delivering individualized educational programs and fostering an inclusive classroom environment. Located near the vibrant city of Minneapolis, MN, youll engage with students, collaborate with colleagues, and make a lasting impact during a critical period.
Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Special Education certification; Tier 3 or 4 preferred Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school setting Strong understanding of IEP development, case management, and progress monitoring Excellent communication and collaboration skills with team members, families, and administration Passion for creating a positive, adaptable, and supportive classroom atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instructional support to students with varied learning needs in a resource setting Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with the educational team Adapt and modify curriculum materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities Maintain accurate documentation, progress records, and compliance with applicable laws and standards Engage with families and specialists to ensure comprehensive student support Participate in regular team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities This contract offers an excellent opportunity for those seeking meaningful work in a supportive school culture.
