9688966-68430 Job Description Make a difference in the lives of young children as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity supports students from birth through five years old, providing early intervention and fostering language development during critical years. The position offers either full-time or part-time flexibility (part-time between 15-25 hours/week) and requires onsite engagement to best serve the needs of students and families.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or equivalent state credentials Experience working with early childhood populations (birth-5 years old) is highly desired Strong knowledge of auditory/oral, total communication, and/or American Sign Language techniques Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with families, teachers, and related service professionals Commitment to individualized education planning and family-centered service delivery
Core Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to children who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting techniques to best support each childs development Assess student skills, progress, and needs, and participate in the creation of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP) or Individualized Education Programs (IEP) Collaborate with school teams, related service staff, and families to deliver comprehensive educational programming Support the transition of students into school settings and ensure continuity of services Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communication with all stakeholders
