Special Education Teacher | Derry, New Hampshire

Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a special education professional working with 5th and 6th grade students in a life skills/intensive needs setting. This role, available on a full-time contract basis from now through June 2027, offers the opportunity to partner closely with a small caseloadonly three students this yearproviding continuity and individualized support. Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid special education teacher certification (or eligibility for certification) Experience or a strong interest in working with students requiring intensive needs support Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) Skill in adapting curricular content for life skills and functional academics Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
Serve as the case manager for 5th/6th grade students in a specialized program Deliver instruction tailored to each learners educational and behavioral goals Coordinate and oversee IEP meetings, documentation, and reporting Foster a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed for optimal student growth Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and service providers The position runs Monday through Friday, with typical hours totaling 35-37.5 weekly.
