Special Education Teacher

We are looking for teachers who are experts in their content area, are committed to improving student achievement, and will bring enthusiasm to the classroom. We are seeking highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic educators for the 2026-27 school year. Certified Special Education Positions include various grade levels and content areas, as well as different settings, such as Resource, LLD, SLD, Cog Mod, etc.
Certification areas of need include (but are not limited to):
Mathematics (Middle School or K-12)
Science (High School)
Elementary (K-6 or P-3)
Qualifications:
- Must hold appropriate New Jersey instructional certificate for the position and a Students with Disabilities Certification or Teacher of the Handicapped Certification
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Ability to modify curriculum and provide individualized instruction based upon IEP goals and objectives
- Ability to motivate and work in teams to achieve academic expectations
- Able to work collaboratively with school leaders and school staff to collect, analyze, and use data to continuously modify the instructional program
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the community
- Ability to provide a nurturing, supportive and positive classroom climate that encourages student responsibility, using positive motivation, clear classroom routines and effective classroom management skills
- Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA
- Must be a critical thinker, problem solver, and respect others
- Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software
- Excellent classroom management
