A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Rising Stars Early Intervention is hiring Special Instructors across the five boroughs to deliver engaging, hands-on Special Instruction that helps kids build real skills at home and in the community.

Responsibilities:

Provide Special Instruction to young children in early intervention Use ABA-informed strategies to support developmental goals Partner with families and the EI team on IFSP goals and caregiver coaching Document sessions and progress clearly

Requirements:

Relevant education/certifications preferred (e.g. special education, early childhood, RBT) Experience as a Special Instructor and/or ABA instructor/therapist Experience with young children (EI / birth-3 or early childhood preferred) Ability to serve families across the five boroughs

Pay:

Basic session (30 minutes): starting at $63 Extended session (60 minutes): $73 ABA sessions (60 minutes): starting at $80

Pay:
