Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and tailored to meet individual student needs. Adapt instructional strategies and materials for students with disabilities, including those requiring speech therapy, behavioral therapy, or specialized accommodations. Collaborate closely with special education teams, therapists, parents, and other educators to create and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) ensuring personalized learning goals are met. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies suitable for students with diverse needs. Incorporate educational technology tools and learning platforms to enhance engagement and facilitate differentiated instruction. Monitor student progress regularly through assessments, standardized testing, and ongoing observations; adjust teaching methods accordingly. Communicate proactively with parents regarding student development, progress reports, and strategies for at-home support; foster strong parent-teacher partnerships. Skills Proven experience working with children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or sensory impairments in an educational setting. Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, instructional modifications, and compliance regulations. Expertise in curriculum development across core subjects such as literacy education, math, early childhood education, physical education, music therapy, and recreational therapy. Skilled in classroom management techniques that support behavior management for students with special needs. Familiarity with educational technology integration and instructional design to create engaging learning experiences. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, therapists, parents, and students effectively. Ability to adapt teaching methods for visually impaired education or early intervention programs; experience working with children from diverse backgrounds is preferred.
