This contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact, working closely with one student to foster academic and personal growth through May 2027. Collaborate with supportive staff to deliver individualized attention and help create an inclusive classroom environment.
Key Qualifications:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional in school settings Demonstrated background working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) Patient, flexible, and compassionate approach to student support Reliable, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to a positive learning experience
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to a 6th grade student with autism throughout the school day Assist with classroom instruction, assignments, and activities as outlined by the teacher or special education team Support the student with social, emotional, and behavioral needs, fostering a safe and encouraging environment Monitor and document student progress, collaborating with educators and therapists Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet the students individual needs Help promote independence, self-advocacy skills, and positive peer relationships This full-time contract offers 35 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and continuing through May 2027.
