Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Support students and schools across Southern Oregon by serving as an Autism Specialist—a pivotal, full-time opportunity for those committed to enhancing the educational experience of students on the autism spectrum. This contract position covers a dynamic region extending from the Ashland area to Eagle Point and Grants Pass, all within a 35-mile radius of Medford, OR. Travel professionals are encouraged to apply for this onsite-only role.

Qualifications and Experience:

Master's-level special education teachers, speech-language pathologists (SLPs—with either TSPC license or Board Certification), school psychologists with a TSPC license, or Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) with focused autism training/experience are welcome. Minimum of 3 years' direct work experience supporting students with Autism, spanning various age groups and grade levels. Expertise in working with students across the full spectrum, including both high-functioning individuals in general education and those who are severely impacted or non-speaking in self-contained environments. Demonstrated experience conducting autism evaluations and assessments. Current Oregon licensure and relevant certification.

Key Duties:

Provide autism-specific consultation and expert support to K-12 staff, students, and families. Conduct comprehensive assessments to guide individualized education plans and interventions. Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and administrators to ensure quality, inclusion, and progress for each student. Develop and deliver professional development and training for school staff on best practices in autism support. Maintain accurate documentation and actively participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team processes.
