Job Description

Seeking for enthusiastic, motivated individual who is interested in working directly with children with special needs, specifically autism, in a special education preschool setting. Applicant will learn and utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior (VB) approach to teaching children with ASD skills, while decreasing problematic behavior. This is a part time 145 day school day employment position and rate ranges from $20-22 per hour, depending on education, experience, and interview/s. Training is provided in person regularly and is on-going in the classroom. Applicant must be willing and able to:
  • Independently contrive teaching opportunities through play
  • Engage in a variety of gross motor play (playing chase, playing on the floor to create teaching opportunities etc
  • Has motivation to learn and aide students in their progress
  • Display a professional, respectful, and compassionate attitude towards children and fellow staff
  • Show dependability and punctuality
  • Show the ability to execute protocols correctly and consistently
  • Accept constructive instruction/training and show competency with training This is a perfect position for college students/grads in special ed or behavior fields and/or someone with experience who is passionate, motivated, and seeking experience in special education, behavior, and autism.
Hired person will be trained in essential skills in order to increase appropriate behaviors, while decreasing problem behaviors using evidence based practices. There are several preschool ABA/Verbal Behavior classroom is located in Montgomery County PA with openings. Current locations are in Lansdale, Abington, Norristown and Pottstown. Hours are 7 hours a day, 8:00-3:30 Monday through Thursday (30 minute unpaid lunch between am and pm classes). The preschool is part of local intermediate unit and follows the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit School Calendar.
