Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school classroom near Pawtucket, RI! This full-time, contract position runs from October 16, 2026, through January 15, 2027 and provides the chance to make a meaningful impact on the educational journey of a small group of students. Your classroom will have around eight elementary-aged children, and you'll work alongside three supportive teaching assistants. Enjoy a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:15am to 3:45pm, with a 30-minute lunch break each day.
Key Qualifications:
Active Rhode Island Special Education Teacher certification (required) Experience working with elementary students in special education settings Strong organizational and communication abilities Passion for nurturing growth and fostering an inclusive classroom environment Collaborative mindset; comfortable working in a team with teaching assistants
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and adapt lesson plans based on the Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals of each student Implement engaging, differentiated instruction to meet varied learning needs Create a safe, positive classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued Collaborate with teaching assistants, school staff, and parents to optimize learning outcomes Maintain thorough records and participate in IEP meetings as needed Your dedication to student success will be recognized and supported.
