What Were Looking For:

Valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license for secondary grade bands Willingness to certify in Rhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency (must be completed within one year of hire) to meet Right to Read Act compliance Experience or comfort working with students who face significant behavioral challenges Strong classroom management skills and the ability to develop tailored behavioral interventions Compassion, patience, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction designed to meet each students IEP goals in a consistent, supportive, and engaging manner Develop and implement behavioral management strategies to encourage positive choices Foster a safe, therapeutic classroom that builds both academic and social-emotional skills Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and families to promote holistic student growth Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of student progress and communication Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights for student planning This position allows you to work closely with a dedicated high school caseload while benefiting from a supportive professional environment.
