8:00 AM to 3:30 PM 7.5 hours per day | 37.5 hours a week (up to 40 hours per week) Position Overview The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support for students in a self-contained learning disabilities classroom. The classroom is supported by a teacher assistant, allowing for a collaborative approach to student success. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students achieve academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals while maintaining compliance with special education regulations and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). There is also a potential opportunity for a Resource Special Education Teacher position within a middle school setting. Responsibilities Develop and implement IEP goals and accommodations Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student needs Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, administrators, and families Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavior supports Qualifications and Required Certifications South Carolina Educator License Special Education Certification Intellectual Disabilities (ID) Certification Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university Why SHC Education?
