FULL‑TIME | ONSITE | 2026-2027 SCHOOL
YEAR ABOUT THE ROLE
We're seeking a full‑time Special Education Teacher to support a therapeutic, school‑based program within a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) . This confidential educational setting serves students placed through state agencies or parent referral , typically requiring intensive academic, behavioral, and functional support. The teacher will manage an instructional caseload of approximately 15 students , ranging from moderate to severe intellectual disabilities , other health impairments , and emotional/behavioral disorders . This role is ideal for an educator experienced in high‑support environments who can deliver structured, individualized instruction aligned to IEP goals within a therapeutic milieu. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide specially designed instruction for students with moderate/severe disabilities in a therapeutic school setting Develop, implement, and monitor compliant IEPs aligned to South Carolina standards Deliver instruction through small‑group, individualized, and functional academic models Implement behavior‑support strategies in collaboration with clinical and residential teams Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, and progress monitoring Support communication, adaptive behavior, executive functioning, and daily living skill development Collaborate with mental health providers, administrators, and related service staff Create a structured, predictable, trauma‑informed learning environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Active or eligible South Carolina teaching certification in one of the following areas: Special Education — Multi‑Categorical (K-12) Special Education — Severe Disabilities (K-12) Special Education — Intellectual Disabilities (K-12) Special Education — Emotional Disabilities (K-12) Experience in therapeutic, residential, or high‑support SPED settings preferred. Ability to work full‑time, onsite through June 30, 2027.

June 30, 2027 Schedule Monday through Friday Standard school hours 30‑minute unpaid lunch 37.5 hours per week Onsite, therapeutic PRTF school environment
COMPENSATION
Flat Weekly Rate:
$1,875/week Equivalent to $50/hour at 37.5 hours/week. Rate is fixed for this Mod/Sev assignment.
