Job Description

Provide meaningful learning experiences for students by bringing your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a supportive school environment on a contract basis. This opportunity features two immediate openings—including a self-contained classroom serving grades 6-12 within a PRTF (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility) setting (8-10 students, in-person only) and an elementary resource classroom for grades 3-5 (serving 12-15 students). Both positions are available immediately and run through June 11, 2027, with a stable, full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification Recent experience in special education settings, preferably serving either grades 3-5 or 6-12 Skill in adapting curriculum and instruction to diverse learning needs Strong classroom management abilities, especially in self-contained or resource settings Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere Organized, dependable, and flexible approach to working within a school team
Responsibilities:
Design and implement tailored lesson plans to meet students' individual education plans (IEPs) Collaborate with support staff, families, and other teachers to maximize student success Monitor and record progress on academic, behavioral, and social goals Create a structured and safe learning environment for all students Maintain open, proactive communication with parents and guardians regarding progress and concerns Uphold all confidentiality and school compliance standards This contract role offers the chance to make a real difference while enjoying a predictable 37.5-hour workweek and immediate start.
