Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a significant impact supporting students with special needs in an engaging learning environment. With two positions available, you'll be providing essential support to either an elementary autism classroom or a PreK special education classroom. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through late May 2027, offering stability and the chance to build meaningful connections.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Valid Special Education (SPED) Teaching License (Emergency Certification not accepted) Experience or strong interest in teaching students with autism or other special needs at the elementary or PreK level Willingness to accept both fully certified and travelers with pending certification Comfort working onsite full-time (remote or virtual options are not available) Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with families, support staff, and school leadership Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive, and adaptive learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and challenges Provide direct instruction and differentiated support throughout the school day Work closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related services team Monitor student progress and adapt strategies to maximize engagement and growth Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with families Cultivate a positive, safe, and welcoming classroom atmosphere
