9592211-38068 Job Description Make a meaningful impact in students lives as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in an inviting school community near Somerville, TN. With four open roles at the elementary, PreK, and high school levels, youll be an essential part of supporting students in a self-contained classroom setting. This contract position offers a stable, full-time schedule from 8:00am to 3:00pm, fully onsite. Youll collaborate with a passionate staff, work directly with students to guide their learning and development, and help shape a positive educational environment.

Qualifications:

Valid Tennessee teaching license Endorsement 459, 461, or 105 CDC certification Previous experience in a self-contained special education classroom, preferably at the indicated grade levels Strong commitment to individualized instruction and IEP implementation Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Responsibilities:

Instruct and support students in a self-contained special education classroom at the assigned grade level Develop, update, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families to support each students unique needs Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles Foster a safe, inclusive classroom culture promoting social and academic growth Maintain accurate records and document student progress
