As a Special Education Teacher in a self-contained Alternate Learning Classroom, youll provide impactful instruction and compassion to a diverse group of learners. This opportunity focuses on K-5 students with intellectual disabilities, Autism, traumatic brain injury, medically complex conditions, and unique academic and functional needs. Your classroom will be equipped with comprehensive curriculum resources tailored for students requiring significant support. Collaboration is encouraged, and youll be supported by two skilled paraprofessionals to create an inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere.

Qualifications:

Active Texas Special Education Certification required EC-6 Certification required Experience supporting students with significant academic and functional needs strongly preferred Commitment to differentiated instruction and adaptive learning methods Strong communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with IEP goals Develop and implement tailored lesson plans and behavioral supports Monitor, track, and document student progress Foster a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, families, and other team members Utilize provided curriculum resources to maximize student growth Maintain open communication with families and support staff
