This contract role is designed for skilled educators who are passionate about fostering learning and independence among middle schoolers with mild to moderate special needs. The position provides a collaborative setting, ongoing support from RBT and paraeducators, and a manageable caseload, allowing you to focus on individualized instruction and student progress.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Special Education license required; 4-8 content area credential preferred (EC-6 will be considered) Experience working with middle school students, especially within SPED moderate/mild settings Ability to create and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) Effective classroom and behavioral management skills, even in settings with few significant behavior concerns Strong communication abilities for collaborating with support staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams Organizational skills to track progress and manage documentation

What You'll Do:

Provide direct instruction and classroom management for a self-contained class of 10 students, grades 6-8 Design and adapt curricula to meet a wide range of learning abilities and styles Oversee and collaborate with 1-2 assigned paraprofessionals and utilize RBT support as needed Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment for students Maintain timely, accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings and parental communication Work regular school hours, 7:45am to 3:45pm, with a 37.5-hour workweek This contract starts as soon as possible and continues through spring 2027, offering the chance to build meaningful, long-term connections with students and colleagues.
