Join Our Montessori Community as an Aftercare Teacher! The Grove Community School, a Montessori school in The Woodlands area, is looking for a dependable, energetic Aftercare Teacher to join our team. This position primarily works with our Early Childhood students, ages 3-6 , supporting the classroom and afternoon program from late morning through the end of the day. A significant portion of our afternoons are spent outdoors. Our students play, explore, and enjoy our natural campus each day, so applicants should be comfortable being active and working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including the Texas heat. What Your Day Will Look Like 11:30-1:00: Assist with our Early Childhood nap/rest period and help create a calm, peaceful environment for students.

Help provide classroom coverage so teachers can take breaks, assist where needed, and support students as they transition through the afternoon.

Afternoon aftercare:

Primarily supervise and engage with our Early Childhood students, ages 3-6. Help children enjoy active, independent outdoor play while maintaining close, attentive supervision. Engage with students rather than simply observing, move throughout the play areas, interact with children, and help create a positive afternoon environment. Assist with indoor activities when weather or other circumstances require us to be inside. Greet parents warmly at pickup and communicate clearly and professionally. Help students clean up after themselves and restore play areas at the end of the day. Complete light end-of-day cleaning and closing responsibilities. What We're Looking For Someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and being outdoors . Dependability and punctuality. We need someone we can count on each day. An active, engaged approach to supervising children. Comfort working primarily with children ages 3-6. A calm, patient presence during nap/rest time and classroom transitions. A willingness to help wherever needed and work collaboratively with other teachers. Strong communication skills and a warm, professional demeanor with families. Previous childcare, preschool, Montessori, or school experience is preferred. Schedule Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m.-5:45 p.m. This position runs through May, with the opportunity to continue during the following school year.
