This contract opportunity runs from July 30, 2026, through May 28, 2027, offering full-time hours on-site with a dynamic and collaborative school team. Youll play a vital role in empowering visually impaired students to participate, learn, and thrive in their educational journeys. What you'll bring: Valid and active Texas State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TSVI) certification. Experience working with children or adolescents with visual impairments, preferably in a school setting. Flexibility and adaptability, able to serve multiple locations and manage a dynamic caseload. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and school staff. Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for diverse learners.

Your responsibilities:

Serve a fluid caseload of approximately 12-15 students, including some homebound learners, across about six schools. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs. Collaborate closely with educators and support staff to ensure accessible curriculum and inclusion. Assist in the development and use of specialized curricula, adaptive technology, and materials for the visually impaired. Provide ongoing support and guidance to families regarding resources and student progress. Travel between school campuses as an itinerant teacher as caseloads and assignments shift throughout the year.
