Desired Qualifications & Experience:

Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher. Demonstrated experience as a case manager for students in special education. Proficient in IEP development and compliance, with working knowledge of Frontline or similar software. SAMA (restraint) training required or willingness to obtain district-specific certification. Experience delivering instruction and behavioral support in a life-skills classroom for elementary-aged children. Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff, families, and external professionals. Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs. Commitment to fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and track progress of IEPs for a caseload of students. Deliver individualized instruction to meet academic, social, and life-skills goals. Collaborate with paraprofessionals—especially during dismissal duty to ensure students' safety. Monitor classroom and student safety with adherence to SAMA protocols. Communicate regularly with families and the wider instructional team. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and federal requirements.
