A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher for an immediate back-fill position with a commitment through June 17, 2027. Youll be part of a dynamic team working full time (37.5 hours per week) with the LRC1 caseload at an elementary level and making an impact in the lives of students in a diverse, welcoming school community near Bellevue, WA.
Qualifications & Skills:
Current Washington State Special Education Teaching License and Certification required Willingness to obtain, or current possession of, fingerprint clearance through OSPI Previous experience in special education (resource room or similar settings) strongly preferred Ability to create inclusive, differentiated instruction and foster a positive learning environment Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and families Strong organizational and case-management abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support for students in the LRC1 program at the elementary level Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with regulations Collaborate with general education staff to ensure student success across diverse settings Adapt lessons and classroom materials to meet a range of learning needs Communicate progress and recommendations with parents and multidisciplinary teams Support social and emotional development of students in a positive, structured environment
