This onsite Special Education teaching position within a transition classroom offers a rewarding opportunity for educators with significant classroom experience to make a profound impact on young adults preparing for independence. This full-time contract role runs throughout the 2026-2027 school year, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week in a collaborative, supportive environment. Youll work closely with dedicated staff, supporting diverse learners and their individualized education plans.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Current Washington State Special Education Teacher certification and ESA certification (verification required upon application) Minimum of 5 years previous experience in a school setting, specifically with transition-aged students or similar populations Strong grasp of instructional strategies for special education, including developing and implementing IEPs and transition plans Demonstrated ability to foster independence, promote vocational and community-based learning, and support post-secondary readiness Effective collaboration skills with colleagues, support staff, and families Willingness to comply with a BIE adjudication process (possible start delay of up to one week)
