Desired Skills & Experience:
Valid state certification as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or comparable specialist credential Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in K-12 educational settings Strong knowledge of assistive technology, instructional strategies, and current best practices Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication modes Ability to conduct individualized assessments and develop effective IEP goals Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing Design and implement tailored instructional interventions and support materials Adapt curriculum to meet the diverse needs and abilities of each learner Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure full participation and access to the general education environment Provide staff development and resources related to hearing loss, classroom strategies, and technology integration Advocate for students and help facilitate an inclusive, accessible educational experience By stepping into this role, you'll empower students to reach their highest potential and help shape the future of inclusive education.
