Description:
Ellington Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a Permanent Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027school year. This position will cover grades Pre-K - 6th Grade at Windermere Elementary School.
Job Summary:
The Permanent Substitute Teacher will serve as the primary substitute for the district when classroom teachers are out. The assignment will vary from day-to-day and will not include long-term assignments.
Qualifications:
Preferred candidate must hold a bachelors degree in any field. In addition, a state and national criminal check will be required, as well as a state DCF search.
Working Conditions:
The permanent substitute is expected to report to work every Tuesday and Thursday while school is in session and will be guaranteed a teaching assignment each day that school is in session. The permanent substitute teacher will be paid at the rate of $17.14/Hour for non--certified candidates and $18.57/ Hour for certified candidates. There are no additional benefits. Assignments will be made through the district's Substitute Coordinators.
