This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with students in a small-group learning environment and is comfortable teaching a variety of subjects.

Hours:

8:30 AM - 3:00

As Needed Grade Levels:

Primarily Middle School; occasional Elementary School opportunities Responsibilities Follow the lesson plans and substitute plans provided by the classroom teacher. Teach and explain the assigned lessons , rather than simply supervising students while they complete work.

Provide instruction and support in:

Math Reading/ELA Science History/Social Studies Life Skills Help students understand assignments and provide additional explanations when needed. Keep students on task and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment. Manage classroom routines, transitions, breaks, and student expectations. Ensure assigned classwork and activities are completed as directed by the teacher. Communicate any academic, behavioral, or classroom concerns with staff. Occasionally substitute for elementary-level classes when needed. Qualifications Must be comfortable teaching and explaining middle school-level academic material , especially Math and ELA. Able and willing to follow the teacher's plans and instructions closely. Comfortable managing and teaching small groups of students. Patient, dependable, professional, and confident working with children. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Able to adapt when students need additional explanation or support. Previous teaching, tutoring, substitute teaching, or classroom experience is preferred. About Our Classroom Tutor Zone Weston offers a small-group learning environment, so our substitute teachers have the opportunity to work more closely with students than they typically would in a traditional large classroom. We are looking for someone who is willing to actively teach, assist, and engage with students throughout the school day.

Schedule:

8:30 AM - 3:00 PM on days when substitute coverage is needed.
