Building-Based Substitute Hours:
Full school day, Monday-Friday (on days school is in session) Reports to: Building Principal About the Position Ipswich Public Schools is seeking a dependable and flexible Building-Based Substitute to join our team. This individual will work in one assigned school building each day, filling in for teachers, paraprofessionals, and other staff as needed. When not covering a classroom, the Building-Based Substitute will support students and staff in various capacities throughout the school. Responsibilities Provide daily classroom coverage in the absence of the regular teacher or paraprofessional. Deliver lesson plans and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. Support students' academic and social-emotional needs. Assist with supervision duties (e.g., hallways, lunch, recess) as assigned. Collaborate with building staff to support instructional and non-instructional activities. Maintain confidentiality and follow all district policies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience working with children in an educational setting preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to a variety of classroom environments and grade levels. Reliability, punctuality, and a collaborative mindset.
