Cast Member City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide in-class and after-school academic support in core subjects such as math and English Build positive, consistent relationships with students to support engagement and attendance Facilitate small-group activities and interventions tailored to student needs Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align support with classroom goals Monitor and document student progress and participation using basic data-tracking tools Support classroom management and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment Participate in City Year trainings, coaching sessions, and professional development Engage families and community partners in events that support student success Model leadership, service, and a commitment to social justice within the school community Contribute to a collaborative AmeriCorps team culture focused on continuous improvement Tutoring and academic support Classroom support and management Youth mentorship Small-group facilitation Basic data tracking and progress monitoring Written and verbal communication Cultural competency and inclusivity Time management and reliability Collaboration and teamwork Basic technology skills (email, office software, data systems) Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for school service Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience with youth or tutoring (preferred)
