Job Description

We have a rich history, with its establishment 200 years ago by St. Rose Phillppine Duchesne. A coalition of schools serving over 50,000 students (PreK-12) within an 11-county area. The educational experience provided to our students and their families is rooted in a higher calling from God to honor and celebrate the gifts He has given us.
Job Summary St. Francis Borgia High School is seeking dependable and professional Substitute Teachers to support our classrooms as needed throughout the school year. Substitute Teachers play a vital role in maintaining instructional continuity and supporting a safe, structured, and faith‑centered learning environment for our students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the classroom teacher
Maintain a positive, respectful, and well‑managed classroom environment
Supervise students during instructional periods and assigned duties
Support student learning while maintaining established classroom expectations
Communicate effectively with administrators and school staff regarding classroom activities
Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and reliability
Uphold school policies, procedures, and Archdiocesan guidelines
Model Christian values and support the mission of Catholic education Qualifications
Required Bachelor's degree or actively pursuing a degree preferred
Ability to manage a classroom of high school students effectively
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Dependable, organized, and professional demeanor
Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education Preferred Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience
Familiarity with secondary‑level instruction
Practicing Catholic or willingness to support Catholic faith practices Working Conditions On‑call, as‑needed substitute assignments
Classroom and school setting with frequent interaction with students and staff
