Job Description

The Town School, a Nursery through 8th Grade co-educational school of 335 students on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, seeks substitute teachers on-site on an as-needed basis for the 2026-27 school year. Town embraces high academic and ethical standards for each student, and all members of the community are guided by our school motto, "Let there be joy in learning." $175 for full day
Major Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with co-teacher, grade-level, divisional, and school-wide colleagues Support the academic program by covering classes in a teacher's absence Differentiate instruction to attend to the needs of individual children Help students transition from one activity to another Communicate effectively with colleagues and administration Perform other duties as assigned by the Heads of Lower & Nursery and Upper School and the
Academic Dean Qualifications:
