Part-Time Substitute Teacher Invictus High School Cleveland, OH Job Details Temporary | Part-time $125 a day 1 day ago Qualifications Teamwork Interpersonal skills Teaching Certification Bachelor's degree Adaptability Time management Full Job Description Job Summary Invictus High School is seeking a qualified, dependable, and adaptable Part-Time Substitute Teacher to provide classroom coverage and maintain continuity of the educational program in the absence of regular teaching staff. Under the general supervision of the Campus Director, the Substitute Teacher is responsible for supporting the effective operation of the classroom and maintaining an appropriate learning environment consistent with the mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures of Invictus High School. The Substitute Teacher shall perform assigned duties in accordance with the rules and regulations of the governing Board, requirements of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and State Board of Education, applicable federal and state laws, directives of the Campus Director and building administration, and established educational and administrative practices. Responsibilities include supervising students, implementing assigned classroom activities, maintaining classroom order and safety, following established school procedures, and supporting student engagement and academic progress. The position requires sound judgment, flexibility, professionalism, effective communication, and the ability to adapt to varying classroom environments and student needs. The Substitute Teacher is expected to demonstrate a consistent commitment to student welfare, school policies, professional conduct, and the overall educational mission of Invictus High School.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Effectively utilize prior education and/or training, sound classroom management, technology, and the curriculum provided to successfully educate and graduate students;  Understand, accept, abide by, and advocate for the Invictus High School's philosophy and mission statement in all school activities;  Read and agree to abide by the policies, directives, and guidelines as stated in all Invictus High School manuals pertinent to the position;  Teach all subjects following the Invictus High School's course of study or as assigned utilizing technology and varying teaching modalities;  Maintain a positive school environment through effective conflict resolution, collaboration, positive reinforcement, and educational leadership modeling;  Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, and discipline in an orderly fashion conductive to good learning;  Motivate students to achieve their full attendance, academic, and behavioral goals, as well as other goals identified;  Keep accurate records on each student such as grade books and progress reports, lesson plans, attendance records, and behavior/discipline records;  Establish and maintain a positive rapport with students, parents, staff, school administration, and other stakeholders;  Maintain effective communication on an ongoing basis with students, parents, staff, school administration, and other stakeholders;  Prepare and administer all standardized tests as directed;  Work with the teaching staff to improve standardized and proficiency testing results;  Recognize opportunities for teachable moments with students;  Exhibit sound judgment in all decision making matters;  Use only forms or reporting records approved and/or adopted by Invictus High School;  Gather, maintain, and submit all student information and forms in a professional and timely manner;  Maintain confidentiality concerning all student information and any professional matters;  Utilize effective time management;  Use computers and other technology provided to assist students;  Work in a professional and cooperative manner with others to achieve duties and responsibilities;  Exhibit punctuality;  Follow dress code as stated in the employee manual;  Act in accordance to the directives and assignments given by the Administrator;  Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
 Bachelor's degree minimum requirement with certification/licensure in appropriate area;  Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office Suite, email, and internet applications  Excellent verbal and written communication skills;  Strong content knowledge in one or more content areas;  Exhibit genuine care for children and a passion for teaching;  Strong ability to gather, analyze, and interpret student data to make sound educational decisions;  Exhibit flexibility with regard to decision making, daily challenges, and job duties;  Strong sense of integrity;  "Team player" attitude; ability to work in a diverse educational community setting;  Understand the community and student demographics;  Understand or is willing to learn the RTI process;  Understand state proficiency testing as well as state teaching standards;  Satisfactory completion of state required criminal history check and health tests; and physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds;  Strong critical and analytical thinking skills, ability to clearly and concisely communicate with internal and external audiences;  Strong organizational and time management skills;  Experience taking initiative and setting priorities as necessary to manage a heavy workload;  Ability to work outside of the traditional work hours, including but not limited nights, weekends, and while away from the office.
