  • Puyallup School District is seeking qualified educator applicants with skills, abilities, and willingness to provide instructional teaching support to our district's schools/departments and to provide coverage for absent teachers throughout the school district.
Position Hours/Days:
At-Will/On-call, based on the 2026-27
SY Calendar Position Rate of Pay:
Full Day Rate (Greater than 3.75 hrs) = $201.57 Half Day Rate (Less than 3.75 hrs) = $100.78
Essential Functions:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or Higher from an accredited college or University (Verifiable per unofficial Transcripts)
  • Documentation MUST be uploaded Current Washington State Teaching Certificate
  • Documentation MUST be uploaded Experience working with children in an instructional capacity Successful substitute teaching experience and effective work with school age students preferred. Ability and desire to work on a constant basis
  • minimum requirement 4 times a month

Applicants who DO NOT currently hold a Washington State Teaching Certificate but meet all other requirements may consider applying for the Emergency Substitute Teacher Position. This Substitute position is screened and hired by the Substitute Services Office ~ Selected Applicants will be contacted by Human Resources and will be required to complete the Substitute Onboarding Process, which includes; Onboarding Paperwork Official College Transcripts (BA Minimum) sent directly from the college/university Substitute Online Orientation Substitute Onboarding Appointment (Includes scanning of fingerprints) Questions?
