We're hiring Para Educators in Castro Valley, CA to provide classroom, behavioral, and one-on-one support throughout the school day. Depending on your assignment, you may work individually with a student or support several students alongside the classroom teacher. Why You Should Apply Earn up to $24/hr paid weekly Monday-Friday school schedule Consistent daytime hours Classroom and one-on-one opportunities School-based experience preferred, but not required Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and more are available starting on the first of the month following 30 days of full-time employment. What You'll Do Support students with classwork, routines, and daily activities Reinforce lessons and directions provided by the classroom teacher Help students develop social, behavioral, and independent living skills Monitor behavior and provide appropriate support Follow student IEP and 504 plans as directed Assist during breaks, lunch, and other school activities Support PT, OT, or speech-related activities when directed Assist with toileting, diapering, hygiene, and personal care when required Communicate with teachers and supervisors regarding student needs What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent Previous school or student-support experience preferred, but not required Comfortable working with students with a range of behavioral, physical, and developmental needs Patient and able to remain calm in challenging situations Able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds when needed Able to kneel, squat, sit on the floor, stand, and walk throughout the school day Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at different school sites based on assignment BLS certification through the American Heart Association If you're looking for steady school-based work in Castro Valley and enjoy working directly with students, we'd like to hear from you.
