Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our after-school program. The ideal candidate is a passionate, patient, and responsible educator who enjoys working with elementary school students and can support their academic learning, homework, and daily classroom activities. Responsibilities Support students with homework, worksheets, and classroom activities. Assist lead teachers with lesson plans, teaching materials, and daily classroom activities. Provide individual and small-group support to students who need additional assistance. Explain concepts and instructions clearly and in an age-appropriate manner. Use visual aids, hands-on activities, games, and technology to enhance student learning and engagement. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback. Help maintain a positive, supportive, and well-organized classroom environment. Collaborate with lead teachers and other staff to meet students' academic and learning needs. Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities as needed. Qualifications Previous teaching, tutoring, or classroom experience is preferred. Background in education, mathmatics, language arts or a related field is a plus. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Ability to work effectively with students at different levels and with different learning styles. Patient, responsible, adaptable, and able to solve problems independently. Strong student engagement and interpersonal skills. Experience with extracurricular activities, STEM clubs, educational games, or competitions is a plus. Chinese language skills are a plus but not required.
