Job Description
TK Instructional Assistant, RSP Aide & Student Proctor at Mt. Baldy Joint Elementary Print Application Deadline 10/30/2026 11:55 PM Pacific Date Posted 9/1/2026 Contact Kate Huffman 909-985-0991 Number of Openings 1 Salary Pay Range $16/hr - $20/hr Per Hour Length of Work Year 185 Employment Type Part Time About the Employer Mt Baldy School is a single-school district located in the village of Mt Baldy located twelve minutes out of Upland, California. Mt Baldy is part of the San Gabriel Mountain range approximately 50 miles northeast of Los Angeles, California. The school has an average enrollment of about 100 students, TK through 8th grade. Approximately 70% of our student body attends school with inter-district attendance permits (parents live outside Mt Baldy's attendance boundaries). Our school has historically scored well on standardized tests, and although we value the information these assessments provide, we believe in multiple measures to assess student learning and progress toward goals. Job Summary Job Summary Are you the kind of person who can help a four-year-old zip a jacket, guide a student through a challenging assignment, organize a hands-on activity, supervise an energetic playground, and still be ready for an outdoor learning adventure—all before lunch? Mt. Baldy School is looking for a warm, flexible, energetic, and dependable individual to join our close-knit team. This unique position combines three essential roles: supporting our youngest learners in the TK Bunny classroom, assisting students with exceptional needs through our Resource Specialist Program, and helping maintain safe, positive, and engaging spaces during recess, lunch, and other student activities. Mt. Baldy School is not a typical school—and this is not a typical instructional aide position. We are a small, one-school TK-8 district nestled in the San Bernardino Mountains, serving approximately 120 students. Our size allows staff members to know every child, work closely across grade levels, and become an important part of the entire school community. Learning at MBS extends well beyond classroom walls. Students explore the creek, work in the garden, investigate the surrounding forest, learn in the burn scar, and participate in authentic outdoor experiences. Our program emphasizes student leadership, curiosity, inclusion, social-emotional development, and meaningful relationships. Every adult on campus contributes to this culture. Job Description /
