CEFA Salary Range Instruction :

$69.48 - $86.78/hour, depending upon education and experience.

Coordination/Curriculum Development :

Less than a Master's $56.50, Master's or Greater $57.91 Salary RSCCD has one of the highest faculty salary schedules among California's 72 community college districts. New faculty will be placed on the salary schedule based upon verified teaching/work experience. Additional compensation is provided for work beyond the basic teaching contract, as defined in the July 1, 2025- June 30, 2028, agreement between The Rancho Santiago Community College District and The Continuing Education Faculty Association (CEFA). Benefits The State of California established the Part-Time Faculty Health Insurance Program (Education Code sections 87860 through 87868), and RSCCD has established a reimbursement program, to provide an opportunity for individual part-time faculty members to receive a reimbursement towards the cost of securing a comprehensive medical plan. and include Part-Time Health Benefits Insurance Reimbursement (if eligible). Additional benefits provided are outlined in the July 1, 2025- June 30, 2028, agreement between The Rancho Santiago Community College District and The Continuing Education Faculty Association (CEFA). Responsibilities Teach all assigned classes, which may include evening or off-campus assignments unless excused according to Board Policy provisions. Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, and academic progress. Assist in maintaining course outline for each assigned course. Be familiar with and observe the administrative regulations as they appear in the Faculty Handbook (flex calendar obligations, course overviews, etc). Participate in department committees and activities. Opportunity to teach classes across the curriculum. Additional coordinating duties may be assigned including meetings with local agencies and medical facilities in the development and maintenance of occupational programs and offerings in the area of Allied Health and participation in the creation, implementation and maintenance of occupational Allied Health courses and programs. Minimum Qualifications (Applicants must meet one of the following): 1) Possess from an accredited institution: A bachelor's degree and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught, OR an associate degree and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught, OR 2) Possession of a full-time clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter, OR 3) The equivalent (applicants who do not meet the above minimum qualifications must complete the Equivalencies Section in the application form and provide conclusive evidence of such).

Additional Requirements:

Adjunct Faculty must be a Medical Assistant with a current and active Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or another nationally recognized Medical Assistant credential.

Applicants must:

Hold and maintain a current, active RMA (AMT) credential. Hold and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR certification for Healthcare Providers. Possess a minimum of three (3) years of recent occupational experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory, outpatient, physician office, clinic, urgent care, specialty practice, community health center, or other healthcare setting consistent with the Medical Assistant scope of practice. Demonstrate competency in both clinical and administrative Medical Assisting procedures, including but not limited to patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, medical records management, electronic health records (EHR), patient intake, referrals, prior authorizations, billing support, and professional patient communication. Possess one (1) of the following: One (1) year of verifiable experience teaching or training adults; OR One (1) year of experience serving as a preceptor, clinical trainer, lead Medical Assistant, supervisor, or clinical educator; OR Completion of formal coursework or training in adult learning principles, instructional methodology, or teaching adults. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or higher in Medical Assisting, Allied Health, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field. Current AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential. Experience teaching in a Medical Assistant, Allied Health, Career Technical Education (CTE), Adult Education, Community College, or vocational training program. Experience supervising Medical Assistant students during laboratory, simulation, or clinical/externship experiences. Experience with both back office (administrative) and back office (clinical) Medical Assisting. Experience with electronic health records (EHR), medical office software, and current healthcare technologies. Experience working with students from diverse ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds.
