Early Childhood Education Full Job Description Overview Teacher Assistant Job Description Position Summary:

Position Summary:

The Teacher Assistant must be an appropriate role model for staff, parents and children. They are responsible for exhibiting good and respectful communication, problem-solving and priority-setting skills as well as maintaining an overall positive attitude. The Teacher Assistant is responsible for helping the teaching staff care of children, supervising, teaching, and helping to implement curriculum. The teacher assistant will report to and is under the supervision of the center director.

Responsibilities:

Assist teachers in providing materials and equipment that offer varied and interesting choices. Maintain a safe and supportive environment Interact with and closely supervise children outdoors. Able to bend and lift a child (up to 50 lbs.) when needed, as well as manage children in outdoors activities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to change position; to sit, stand, walk, climb or balance; to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; to bend, twist and reach with hands and arms; and to pick up children. Assist with transitions between activities. Helping children use the bathroom and changing diapers Handling basic hygiene needs such as handwashing Prepare children for and supervise them during naptime Prepare and help serve lunch and snacks Support teachers with preferred classroom management and positive guidance strategies. Be available for all parents on a day-to-day basis. Share their child's day with them Attend Center meetings. Participate in staff development trainings and professional development opportunities. Adhere to Title 22 guidelines And all other duties as assigned

Qualification:

0-12 units of ECE At least one year of experience working with children in a preschool classroom setting. Ability to take initiative, but also to accept direction and seek guidance appropriately. Ability to maintain the highest levels of Health, Safety & Supervision of children. Up to date on immunizations/TB clearance. Must be reliable and punctual.

Kids Konnect Preschool Annual Physical exam and TB Clearance Criminal Background Clearance Child Abuse Index Clearance Current certification in CPR and First Aid Adherence to the Child Abuse Reporting Mandate Adhere to internal policies and procedures. Accountable for the health, safety and supervision of all children. Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency.
