Canyon Charter School located in Santa Monica is looking for individuals who have experience working with children or those who are seeking a degree in education to support students during the 2025-2026 school year.

An Instructional Aide at Canyon assists one or more teachers by performing the following duties:

• preparation of materials and lessons
• work with students one on one or in small groups
• maintain a clean and positive classroom environment
• assist with classroom management
• provide supervision of students on the playground
• assist students with conflict resolution strategies
• assist with clerical work including putting up bulletin boards, grading papers, copying and filing
• preparing materials for art or other hands-on activities
• provide intervention support to students in need Candidates must be able to commit to the entire school year: August through June, with the option to continue the following school year. • Classroom management skills
• Experience working with children in educational settings
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students and colleagues
• Familiarity with childcare practices and behavior management techniques
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
