Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing vital support to students in a dynamic middle school environment. This paraprofessional role is designed for an individual passionate about making a positive difference in the life of an 8th-grade student, working one-on-one to encourage academic and social growth. In this position, you'll collaborate closely with educators and school staff, ensuring a supportive, structured environment for your assigned student. Your day begins at 7:30 AM and concludes at 2:40 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, from now until June 11. You will be an integral part of the educational experience, helping the student navigate daily school routines and addressing behavioral needs with empathy and professionalism. Ideal candidates will bring experience supporting students with behavioral challenges and hold or be willing to complete any required state trainings. Your ability to foster trust and maintain consistency will be highly valued.
Qualifications & Experience:
Prior experience as a paraprofessional, especially in school settings Preference for backgrounds in working with students displaying behavioral needs Willingness to complete mandatory state trainings prior to or upon onboarding Strong communication and collaboration skills Dependable, patient, and committed to supporting student success
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support for an 8th-grade student throughout the school day Implement strategies to encourage positive behavior and academic engagement Communicate regularly with teachers and related services staff Uphold confidentiality and follow all school policies and protocols You'll have the unique chance to directly influence a student's daily progress while developing your own skills in a professional, nurturing school atmosphere.
