Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Support students and classrooms by making a real difference as a Paraprofessional in a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity is available immediately through June 8, 2027, with full-time hours, Monday through Friday (35 hours a week, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch).
Two positions are open:
one supporting a full-year medical leave and another in the STRIVE program, assisting students with significant emotional needs.
Key Qualifications:
Current Delaware Paraeducator Permit is required (cannot be pending). Experience as a paraprofessional in educational settings. Therapeutic support or background in emotional/behavioral support is highly preferred for the STRIVE program role. For the medical leave coverage, male paraprofessionals are encouraged to apply due to specific caseload needs. Ability to pay for the required $85 CBC fingerprinting and provide confirmation. RBTs may apply, but supervision must be arranged independently if certification is to remain active. Must provide a resume and permit documentation for consideration.
What You'll Do:
Deliver one-on-one and small group support, fostering student learning and engagement. Work directly with students in need of medical or therapeutic support within the elementary school setting. Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and other staff to support personalized education plans. Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive school atmosphere. Maintain clear, ongoing communication regarding student progress and classroom needs. Adapt to evolving classroom situations with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
