9659566-19809 Job Description Step into an impactful contract position supporting students in an innovative autism support program. This onsite role spans late October through the end of March, providing vital classroom assistance to young learners as a Paraprofessional BSP in a specialized setting. As maternity leave coverage, youll work alongside dedicated educators, ensuring students on the autism spectrum receive tailored academic and behavioral guidance.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit is mandatory; candidates without a current permit will not be considered (pending status acceptable with proof from DEEDS portal). Prior experience in special education, particularly in autism support or BRIDGES classrooms, is strongly preferred. Must be able and willing to cover the $85 CBC fingerprinting cost as required for employment. Capable of adapting to classroom needs and supporting students with a wide range of abilities. If currently certified as an RBT, please note supervision for certification must be secured outside of school hours; the district does not recognize or compensate this credential in this role.

What You'll Do:

Provide direct classroom support under teacher guidance, assisting students with individualized education plans (IEPs) and facilitating daily routines. Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment tailored to students unique needs. Support communication, social, and behavioral goals of elementary-aged students with autism. Collaborate with the broader special education team to implement strategies and document progress.
