Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding, contract opportunity providing direct adult support as a paraprofessional within an elementary school environment near Wilmington, DE. Work closely with students and educational professionals, supporting daily classroom activities and individual learning needs. This full-time, onsite role offers meaningful experience for those dedicated to making a difference in children's lives.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current, valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit is required (permit cannot be pending; screenshot of DEEDS portal needed if pending). Experience supporting students in a classroom or educational setting is preferred. Candidates must be prepared to complete $85 CBC fingerprinting (confirm agreement before submission). Organized, dependable, and proactive in a team environment.
RBTs must be aware:
no on-site supervision is provided. The district and agency cannot honor RBT status for this position. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to adapt to varying classroom dynamics and student needs.
Role Responsibilities:
Provide targeted, adult-level support to specific students and assist with classroom management. Implement teacher-led instruction, help with assignments, and support student IEP goals. Maintain a safe and positive environment for students at all times. Facilitate communication between students and staff as needed. Participate in team meetings, training, and collaborative planning sessions. Complete documentation and reporting according to district and school procedures.
