Assistant Teacher

Job Summary We are looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Elementary Assistant to join our growing Montessori community for the upcoming school year. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children, values hands-on learning, and thrives in a collaborative, peaceful environment rooted in authentic Montessori principles. At Montessori Schoolhouse, our students learn through purposeful work, nature, gardening, animals, outdoor exploration, practical life, and meaningful community experiences. Our assistant will help support the classroom environment, guide students with kindness and consistency, and work closely alongside the lead teacher. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans aligned with educational standards, including literacy, history, geography and humanities. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and applying effective behavior management strategies. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, including Montessori or preschool methodologies. Support children with diverse needs by assisting with individualized education plans. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration. Document student progress and assist in preparing reports related to academic progress. Experience Prior experience working with children is highly preferred. Passion for Montessori and child-led learning. Organized and reliable. Proficiency in classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning environment. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists. Previous private school or experience is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
