Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Paraprofessional to join our educational team, supporting classroom teachers and enriching the learning experience for students. In this vital role, you will work closely with children of various ages, including those with special needs, to foster a positive and inclusive environment. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help promote student engagement, facilitate individualized learning, and contribute to the overall success of our educational programs. Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers with lesson planning and implementing instructional activities across subjects such as literacy education, math, and early childhood education. Support students with diverse needs, including those with autism or disabilities, by providing tailored assistance and behavior management strategies. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, emotional development, and academic growth in preschool, toddler care, or daycare settings. Manage classroom routines and behavior to create a safe, organized, and nurturing environment conducive to learning. Collaborate with teachers to develop curriculum adaptations and individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional support. Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch periods, and transitions to ensure safety and positive interactions. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support ongoing educational goals and address any concerns promptly. Skills Strong understanding of special education principles and childhood development theories. Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored for early childhood or preschool learners. Proficiency in literacy education, math instruction, and behavior management techniques. Knowledge of working with individuals with autism or disabilities within classroom settings. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and students. Classroom management skills to maintain an organized and positive learning environment. Familiarity with Montessori or other preschool methodologies is a plus. Ability to work well with children of different ages, including toddlers and preschoolers in daycare or private school environments.
