Duties Plan and execute developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to infants' individual needs, supporting their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth. Supervise and engage with infants during play, feeding, nap times, and other daily routines to ensure safety and well-being. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns, fostering strong partnerships built on trust and transparency. Lead classroom management efforts by guiding assistant teachers and ensuring adherence to licensing regulations and best practices in early childhood education. Implement health and safety protocols including pediatric first aid, CPR, mandated reporting laws, and emergency procedures to protect children at all times. Document developmental observations and maintain accurate records of each child's progress for ongoing assessment and planning. Qualifications Proven experience working with infants in daycare or preschool settings; classroom management skills are essential. Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education standards, and caregiving best practices. Certification in first aid, CPR (including pediatric first aid), and familiarity with mandated reporting laws required. Can provide training if neccesary. Strong communication skills for parent engagement and team collaboration. Ability to create a nurturing environment that promotes positive behavior management and social-emotional development. Prior experience in daycare center or preschool environments is preferred; nannying or babysitting experience is also valuable.
