Bilingual; fluent in Spanish, requiredProof of Spanish proficiency via Spanish MTEL, WPT/OPI, or other pathway as approved in DESE Guidance for the Provision of Interpreters in the Education Setting (p. 7 and 8), required within the first year of employmentCompletion of the 2-hour online Language Ambassador Training Course, certificate required upon hireBachelors degree, preferred;Experience working with students at the early childhood levelExperience working with English learners (ELs)Experience working with students with disabilitiesWhole classroom setting experience, preferred
Responsibilities:
All classroom duties to be performed in
Spanish:
Strong organizational skills;Work collaboratively with the assigned Kindergarten teacher and other professionals in the classroom;Participate in professional learning opportunities as directed by building and district administration and the classroom teacher;Willingness to assist with bathrooming skills of Kindergarten students;Lead small groups and follow plans provided by the classroom teacher;Perform all duties and responsibilities related to a Kindergarten Classroom;Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to create a supportive classroom that, as much as possible, aligns with current research in Dual Language Education and meets students' individual needs, interests, and abilities.
